Archie's Descent (Beta Release)
When telling game developers my pursuit in getting a job as a writer and/or narrative designer, a good amount of them would recommend I work on something on a significantly smaller scale than Wayfinders (even though I'm making episodic entries for them). After hearing it for the umpteenth time, I finally decided to take their advice.
So a little over half a year ago, I reluctantly put Wayfinders aside to work on a smaller project. But since I've put so much time and energy into building the world of Wayfinders, the smaller project is a Point and Click Adventure that takes place in that world. To be more specific, it's a prologue I'm currently calling "Archie's Descent"
Dev Notes:
The "Next" button
I made it so the button disappears for a couple seconds to prevent players from spamming it. I made it so the button temporarily disappears after it's clicked on to go to the next line of dialogue, making the button reappear based on the amount of text of each dialogue line proved to be very complicated so it'll reappear after a couple seconds for every line.
The reason why I made this "cooldown" for the button is to prevent players from spamming it. The characters move in every line and when going to the next line when a movement sequence isn't completed will cause a kind of clash with the expected sequence for the next line which results in some weird movement.
GUI
Graphic Design isn't my forte so the GUI (Graphical User Interface) is very basic (bland even). That is all
Music
I didn't add any music because I couldn't find an suitable song that's either copyright free or available for me to purchase.
While working on this game, I listened to a lot of lo-fi music (like this one) so if you'd really prefer to have some kind of music playing in the background maybe have something like that in the background while playing
